Red Wings’ tryout invite Robinson is fully conscious after being hospitalized | ProHockeyTalk
It appears that Robinson is fine, and, that being taken to the hospital was a precautionary measure. Better safe than sorry.
Doesn’t appear Alfredsson will be ready to report to training camp on time | Red Wings Front
Well, this just became a lot more interesting. At the beginning of the summer I was 100% certain that Alfredsson would return. Last week, that dropped to 75%. Now, I am not so sure that we will see Alfie back in the winged wheel.
Mike Babcock and the lure of unlimited power | Puck Daddy
I think that Babcock will re-sign with the Wings. But, if for whatever reason he does not, he may become the most sought-after head coach in the history of the NHL.
Joakim Andersson still seeking a firm role with Detroit Red Wings | Detroit Free Press
Overall, Andersson is probably a much better player than Luke Glendening. But, Glendening fits a role that Andersson cannot.
NHL will bring its Winter Classic all-access documentary to Epix - SBNation.com
I had never even heard of this channel until now. The good news is that "all hockey fans in the United States will have access to the finished product". Whether this means that everyone living in the U.S. will have the opportunity to subscribe to the new channel or if some other deal is involved is still unknown.
Blue Jackets GM to Johansen: It’s about the team, not ‘one guy’ | ProHockeyTalk
What makes this particular case interesting is the fact that the two sides are still $3 million per year apart. That is a drastic amount of money that is not being agreed upon. They will probably meet somewhere in the middle, but, the longer this drags on, I have to imagine that Johansen gains some leverage.
Habs put 'A' on Markov, Subban, Pacioretty and Plekanec | TSN
Personally, I have never been a fan of having just alternate captains instead of having one main captain. And, from a Canadiens perspective, I would imagine that Subban would be the ideal captain for them.
Will the NHL publicize divers? | ProHockeyTalk
Hopefully, the league will let the public know when players are fined for diving. In a way, by publicizing the divers, the NHL gives the public a bit of oversight. If the NHL does not punish a blatant dive, the public will know.
Ukraine reminder of dilemma facing Russian NHLers - Sportsnet.ca
The political issues of the world will always find ways to creep into the world of sports. But, sports should be the one thing that everyone, regardless of political ideology, race, or sex, can bond over. Usually, this is the case.
Phil Falcone wants to sell his share of the Wild and buy a portion of the Islanders instead. The Islanders current owner, Charles Wang, is selling the team to Jon Ledecky, who is friends with Falcone, and Scott Malkin.
While Kuemper's demands may not seem like much, the Wild do not want to sign him to a one-way deal. They want to sign him to a two-way deal in order to avoid having three goaltenders on one-way deals (Bäckström and Harding being the other two).
Tavares all for NHLers returning to Olympics - Sportsnet.ca
I enjoy all of the Winter Olympic sports, but, hockey is the one that I follow the most. Not having the NHL players there would be a weird sight. Maybe Jim Paek could actually lead South Korea to a medal!
In addition to Anthony Mantha, I am very interested in seeing how Toronto's William Nylander performs.
Watch Steven Stamkos convert a 91 yard field goal with his hockey stick - SBNation.com
This is ridiculous! Talk about having a powerful shot.
Let's Go Red Wings!
