Great start to the season last night, but it's a long schedule and one game is just a small slice. Fortunately, the Wings got to take the third period off and get some rest, which they'll need against a Carolina team that got shut out DOMINATINGLY EMBARRASSED by Nashville 2-1 in their season opener on Thursday. This one will be the home opener for the Canes.
As Joe reminded us on the last podcast, the last time the Wings went to Carolina 1-0, they got a game-winning overtime goal by a newly-signed veteran center. Mwahaha.
