2016 World Cup of Hockey: Dylan Larkin named to Team North America

The talk of the town has been the highly-anticipated Team North America (or “young guns”) team. The NHL has announced it’s 16-man roster, and boy oh boy is it ever awesome. As expected, Red Wings rookie Dylan Larkin has been named to the team. Here is the roster in it’s entirety as of now per the NHL’s press release:

G John Gibson, Anaheim Ducks

G Connor Hellebuyck, Winnipeg Jets

G Matt Murray, Pittsburgh Penguins

D Aaron Ekblad, Florida Panthers

D Seth Jones, Columbus Blue Jackets

D Ryan Murray, Columbus Blue Jackets

D Morgan Rielly, Toronto Maple Leafs

F Sean Couturier, Philadelphia Flyers

F Jack Eichel, Buffalo Sabres

F Johnny Gaudreau, Calgary Flames

F Dylan Larkin, Detroit Red Wings

F Nathan MacKinnon, Colorado Avalanche

F Connor McDavid, Edmonton Oilers

F J.T. Miller, New York Rangers

F Sean Monahan, Calgary Flames

F Brandon Saad, Columbus Blue Jackets

This is certainly one of the most exciting group of players to gaze at. The center depth of McDavid, Eichel, and Larkin pretty much speaks for itself. I would put a bet down that this group of young thoroughbreds could give a lot of the other teams a run for their money. It’s going to be a whole lot of fun to watch.

Across the chart, the team is stacked. I guess the next question to ask is who will be Dylan Larkin’s linemates?
