WIIM Mailbag: Red Wings Trade talk, roster talk, let's not forget polarizing scoring inabilities!

New, comments
Leon Halip-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to another edition of the WIIM Radio mailbag. We're coming off of a shootout loss at the hands of the Philadelphia Flyers (gross). We have a lot to talk about with the trade deadline looming, and the Atlantic Division remaining to be annoying considering the Lightning are now heating up. Don't forget to drop us your questions in the comments!

Hre's a rundown of topics for us:

  • The Week That Was: The Red Wings had an extremely successful trip out West, and a lackluster return to home. We've scored two goals or less in the eight of our last 10 games, so we're gonna break that down.
  • Roster News: Alexey Marchenko spent some time riding the pine pony while players like Jonathan Ericsson continue to be weighing the team down. Do we expect that to change? Also, Teemu Pulkkinen is back! Could this be the lift that the Wings need to help scoring?
  • Around the League: The Canadiens are falling apart without Carey Price, is it safe to say that even with the return of the best goalie in the NHL, they could fall short of the playoffs?
  • Trade Talk: The Wings made a trade! They traded Richard Nedomlel to St. Louis. Is this the only trade move we see Ken Holland making since the team is so strapped in terms of cap?
  • Prospects Report: Michelle will run us down on the Griffins report as well as the other prospects around the world.
  • Mailbag Time: Here's where you come in. Give us your best questions and we'll make sure to give our best answers. Ask us something good. Real good. You can say a swear word if you want.
  • Looking Ahead: Yay! No more staying up until 1 AM! We'll talk about the upcoming opponents, and expected outcomes.
