I heard about this company on the TSN Analytics podcast. It seems like it’s a really cool idea. Like we always say, Corsi and other stats are not perfect correlation for possession. This could be the way forward.

Some teams may fight this because they have put a lot of money and time into their own analytics operations. If a company comes in and has a better way forward for everyone, it could make all their hard work worthless.

Either way, it’s an interesting idea. We’ll see what happens.

Pretty much every Detroit article from last night before the game (which is when I do Quick Hits) was about Vanek’s return. It’s about an hour before Sunday’s game, and I’m really looking forward to seeing Vanek come back.

At the same time, it’s unfair to pin all our hopes on one player. But, I will say this. I think that Vanek + Sproul on the power play is going to be a treat to watch. Let’s hope I’m right.
