Devils Blog: All About The Jersey

Happy belated Thanksgiving Hockeytown, I hope everybody had a fantastic turkey day! Enough with football (at least until tomorrow’s game in The Shoe), let’s gear up for some Red Wings hockey!

The Wings will look to string together wins for just the third time this season when they take on the New Jersey Devils tonight. The match-up should be an interesting one, Detroit and New Jersey are two of the bottom three teams in even-strength xGF/60 so far this year.

We’ll see how this one turns out, but I’d expect the over/under for the total number of shots on goal to be somewhere around 30. Neither of these two teams has been lighting up the scoresheet as of late but the Devils have been getting by with some superb shutdown defense and goaltending, as you’d expect.

I’m assuming the Wings will be rolling with the same lineup that got them two points against Buffalo Wednesday night. Let’s hope Jeff Blashill finally feels comfortable with the players he’s got skating and with whom they’re skating. This line blender business is driving me nuts.
