Late this morning, we received news about the injury status of Tyler Bertuzzi and Brendan Smith, both injured last game against the Canadiens.
First, we have this information:

Seven days seems very optimistic considering how bad Smith’s knee looked. Ansar Khan spoke to Ken Holland, who gave him a four week estimate on Smith.
#RedWings Brendan Smith out around four weeks, Ken Holland said. No word yet on Tyler Bertuzzi.

Considering that Andreas Athanasiou is still two weeks away after being two weeks away two weeks ago, take the four week estimate with a shaker of salt.
UPDATE:
We have an update on Bertuzzi. Looks like nothing broken, but he has a high ankle sprain. The estimate is 3-5 weeks.

We also received confirmation that Tomas Jurco is being recalled from his conditioning stint in Grand Rapids. From the Detroit press release:
Jurco, 23, joined the Griffins last week for conditioning after missing the first two months of the 2016-17 season due to offseason back surgery. In two games with Grand Rapids, he recorded one goal, one assist, six penalty minutes and seven shots on goal. The fifth-year pro has skated in 143 games for the Red Wings since making his NHL debut in 2013-14, recording 39 points (15-24-39) and 44 penalty minutes. Jurco also skated in a five-game conditioning stint for Grand Rapids last season and racked up nine points (5-4-9), earning AHL Player of the Week honors on Nov. 22, 2015. He has appeared in 113 career games with the Griffins, tallying 71 points (33-38-71) and 40 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 188-lb., forward has also picked up 21 points (13-8-21) in 32 career AHL playoff games and owns a Calder Cup championship ring from the Griffins' title run in 2013.
So, Bertuzzi and Smith out for at least a week, likely longer, and Jurco back up.
We’ll update this post if more information becomes available.
