He’s baaaaaaack!
Ansar Khan of MLive reported that the Red Wings will invite veteran forward Daniel Cleary to camp on a pro tryout contract on Friday evening:
Daniel Cleary coming to #RedWings camp on a pro tryout.

Earlier this week, we spoke about Dan Cleary coming to the Red Wings on a PTO. Hate to say we told you so, but, we told you so. This of course does not mean that Dan Cleary is a Red Wing, but I have reason to believe that after camp, he will be signed to an AHL contract as a “locker room” guy.
The past few years, Red Wings fans have been hit with the same announcement around the same time, but usually it is announcing a one-year contract with the NHL club. We’ll go ahead and call this a blessing in disguise for the time being, as it’s clear that the longtime Red Wings veteran does not have enough gas in the tank to play a role on the NHL level.
