How to watch Saturday’s World Cup of Hockey 2016 games: Five Red Wings players in action

The World Cup of Hockey is here, and here’s how you can watch on Saturday, September 17th

Hockey: World Cup of Hockey-Pre Tournament-Team Sweden vs Team Europe Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

It’s here! It’s finally here. The World Cup of Hockey begins today with two games featuring two tournament heavyweights in Team Canada and Team USA. Here’s how you can tune into all of the fun whether you are at home in front of your TV, or on your mobile device!

Saturday, Sept. 17

Team USA vs. Team Europe, 3:30 p.m. ET
TV Broadcast: ESPN2, SN, TVA Sports
Live Stream: WatchESPN

Team Czech Republic vs. Team Canada, 8 p.m. ET
TV Broadcast: ESPNEWS, SN, TVA Sports
Live Stream: WatchESPN

Among Red Wings players in action are Frans Nielsen, Thomas Vanek, Tomas Tatar, Petr Mrazek, and Justin Abdelkader. Team USA and Team Canada open up as heavy favorites to win tonight’s games, but I wouldn’t sleep on Team Czech Republic. They have one of the better goalie tandems in the tournament, and have shown surprisingly solid play.

As stated above, all games will be available for streaming on ESPN’s stream service, but a cable provider login is required. If you can’t get that, hit up your local sports pub. They’ve always got ESPN on!
