Two important things to note about these rosters:
- It’s weird to look a groupings of four forwards/defensemen, but trying to do it in the regular 3/2 setup makes it look like those are set lines, and they aren’t.
- I wouldn’t read anything into how players are split among teams. While it might make sense to try to get linemates together as soon as possible, the sheer number of missing top guys simply means they’re trying to spread out the experience.
Generally the way this works is that the teams will work together for a few days before the Red & White game separates them essentially into the two preseason scrimmage squads (hence the importance of spreading out the veterans). Team Lindsay is a little thinner than usual because of the World Cup, but once the scrimmage happens, a lot of the juniors kids will be heading back to their respective teams to start the CHL season. Final cuts are due the day before the start of the regular season.
