2016 NHL preseason: Red Wings projected lineup against Bruins for September 30

NHL: Preseason-Pittsburgh Penguins at Detroit Red Wings Leon Halip-USA TODAY Sports

After two games of preseason exhibition, the Red Wings are now 2-0-0 after victories over the Pittsburgh Penguins, and Boston Bruins. Tonight they draw the Bruins again at the Joe Louis Arena, and guess what? It’s going to be broadcasted! That’s right, Fox Sports Detroit Plus tonight, puck-drop is at 7:30 pm ET. We’re unsure if it will be available yet, but Fox Sports will be offering Red Wings games on their streaming service, ‘Fox Sports Go’, starting this season. If it’s available there, you can watch on your mobile device with a cable provider login.

Here’s a look at tonight’s projected lineup from today’s morning skate:

2016 2nd-round defenseman Filip Hronek makes his debut as a Red Wing tonight, other notable players to watch will be Joe Hicketts, Evgeny Svechnikov, Dylan Sadowy, and of course the top line of Riley Sheahan, Gustav Nyquist, and Darren Helm.

Update: Ansar’s midday update has Matthew Ford on the fourth line in Campbell’s place and has Howard playing the whole game, backed up by Coreau. Also some quotes from Blashill on Hronek’s preseason debut.

"I thought he had a real ability to move the puck when I saw him in the summer (development camp)," Blashill said. "He seemed to be able to handle forecheck. I think that's the hardest thing in today's game, to handle how hard everyone is forechecking. So you have to be able to manage that puck and he did a good job of it this summer.

"He's got an edge to him as well. I think it would mean a lot for him to be real good on the power play to be the type of NHL player we'd like him to be, so we'll give him a chance on the power play tonight as well."

"I think success breeds confidence, so if it helps him have success not (facing) a full NHL lineup that could be a positive," Blashill said. "But I think either way, from my standpoint, I'd like him to play against as good a players as possible, just to see how he handles the challenge. I liked him in the summer, let's see him in a real game."
