Quick Hits: Hollywood Frans Nielsen

From Denmark to Detroit to All-Star: Frans Nielsen's hockey journey| Detroit Free Press

We spent most of yesterday talking about our now nearly last place hockey team and how Ken Holland will handle the 5-6 year rebuilding process.

Today has a bit more of a positive vibe. Helene St. James wrote about Frans Nielsen and his career starting in Denmark, going to New York and now Detroit. It’s a nice piece about a nice guy. Nielsen hasn’t been lit the world on fire, but I think it’s safe to say that he’s been a solid contributor on a bad Red Wings team this year. He seems like a good dude and he seems like he’s excited to experience All-Star weekend in Los Angeles.

I’m happy for Nielsen and it would be great for him to get the chance to be a big time contributor on a winning Red Wings team one day.

Wait... the Sabres and Stars were involved in a game with a controversial goal call? Bonus here is that there were TWO controversial decisions in the same game. Both calls went against Buffalo and they ended up losing 4-3.
