After a Spooktacular showing by the Red Wings, specifically the new “kid line”, the Red Wings head north to Ottawa to take on the Senators. As inconsistent and sometimes flat out bad as the Red Wings have been thorough this season, a win tonight would put them in a tie with Ottawa for a top three divisional spot.

The Senators come into this one playing some inconsistent hockey of their own, especially at home where they have a 2-2-4 record (one of those 4 OT/SO losses coming from the Red Wings in the second game of the season). Mark Stone and Derick Brassard continue to do the heavy lifting in terms of scoring goals and while he has not score a goal yet, Erik Karlsson has 10 helpers in seven games. In net Craig Anderson has received the lion’s share of the starts but Mark Condon has actually been the better goalie.

With a couple days off before taking on the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday it would be expected that we will see an energetic performance out of the Red Wings tonight but that has been an issue already at times this year so who knows. If both teams come to play like we expect they would this should be a fairly entertaining game.
