Panthers Blog: Litter Box Cats
The Wings welcome the Panthers to the LCA for the first time to kick off a week full of division games and battling with those same Panthers for the coveted fifth spot in the NHL’s weakest division. The Wings are up by one point on the Panthers, which is the extra point they earned in a shootout victory in Sunrase all the way back in October.
Florida is coming off a 7-3 loss at the hands of Colorado at home, so if you’re looking for the team motivated to bounce back after a humbling loss, there’s another eerie similarity for this one. Both teams are really similar in how they got to where they are via goal differential, except Florida scores more AND gives up more than the Wings and Florida’s goaltending problems are due to injury rather than inconsistency over the last month.
Detroit will be looking to get their power play going again after it’s cooled off of late, and the 27th-ranked PK in the league would be a good opportunity for that.
