Keys to the Game

“Leave Your Stupid Comments In Your Pocket!”

Zetterberg was nearly lost for words after the game on Saturday, and from his comments yesterday his current strategy sounds like acknowledging that yes everyone on the Wings should feel horrible about how they played but that they have to leave those negative feelings in the locker room.

Play confidently, even when you’re at your worst, especially when you’re at your worst, because it’s the only way to turn things around. Be the Wings team that beat the Flames 8-2.

Heart, Hustle, and GRIT

The Wings held a grueling practice yesterday where they spent a lot of time on 1-on-1 and 2-on-2 drills with sprints in between followed by more canned statements about compete level, win battles, find a way to win, blah blah blah. We are hoping to see that emphasis on small battles pay off with our guys reaching the puck first, forcing turnovers, winning face-offs, and generally having that extra jump.

Beware the False Start

What we want to avoid is looking like we’ve turned over a new leaf, and then 10 minutes later we completely fall apart and are down by three goals. Show you can keep the energy up for 60 minutes and the wins will come.

Let’s Go Red Wings!
