Don’t look now... but here come the Red Wings.

Just kidding. Yesterday was surely a nice win though. With the way this season has gone so far, I’ll definitely enjoy the W’s when they happen. One could argue the Red Wings are better off losing every game and getting the highest pick possible, but whatever. I’m a fan and I like winning. Beating the Capitals brought a smile to my face and I’d enjoy that feeling again this afternoon against the Penguins.

In fact, today would be a GREAT day for Brendan Smith to showcase any hockey-related talents he might have hidden away. The trade deadline is coming quickly. The best plan for today would be a victory for the Wings with many goals and assists from Smith and Thomas Vanek.

We’ll see if Mike Green returns to the lineup today. He missed yesterday’s game due to illness. It’s expected that Petr Mrazek will be between the pipes once again. We’ll see if Tomas Jurco gets back into a game as well. All lineup decisions will probably be made after warm-ups this afternoon.
