Keys to the Game:
Start on Time
Everything about this game says the Red Wings should come out flat. It is on the West Coast. They are coming back after a week off. They have had issues all season starting on time. If they can overcome these issues and get out to a lead early and maybe get the Canucks to pack it in early.
Find and Play Their Game
Among other things, this team really lacks a identity on the ice. Consistent hockey teams know their identity and they play to it. Starting tonight the Red Wings have 22 games left in the season to figure out what they want their identity to be and how to play to it.
Stay Injury Free
They have been an issue for the Wings for several seasons now. Injuries to key players at key times seemed to derail things just as they were getting going. This time the Red Wings do not need to worry about key players being injured down the stretch run and into the playoffs. This time they need to worry about players being looked at by the rest of the league as trade deadline acquisitions getting injured.
