Gameday Updates: Detroit Red Wings at Montreal Canadiens: Line Combinations, Key Matchups

NHL: Montreal Canadiens at Detroit Red Wings Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

A couple updates so far.

In case you have not heard, the Red Wings recalled Ben Street from Grand Rapids as an emergency call-up for a yet to be named forward. The most recent word is that they will see how the unnamed player does during warmups before deciding if Ben Street will make his Red Wings debut tonight or not.

The second update involves Montreal, namely that former Michigan product Al Montoya will be in the net tonight instead of Carey Price.

Players to Watch

Max Pacioretty

Take Max Pacioretty off the Canadiens and the stats from their forwards look very similar to the Red Wings. Slowing down the former Michigan Wolverine is easier said than done this season but if the Red Wings want to win they are going to have to find a way to do it.

Anthony Mantha

The big Red Wing winger has hit a rough patch lately but he really seems to enjoy playing against his childhood team. Look for a return to Montreal and getting to play in front of family and friends to light a spark in Big Tony tonight.
