Not many games left, folks. Thank goodness.

The Minnesota Wild clinched a playoff spot yesterday, despite losing to the Vancouver Canucks. The Wild have been a real strong contender all season long, but have fallen flat in the last month. They’ve won only three games out of their last 12. That’s bad.

After today, there will be eight games left on the schedule — four of them being at the Joe before it closes its doors for good.

There’s not much to say at this point. I think we’re all pretty numb to how bad the Red Wings have been. I’m mentally limping into the end of this season. The Wild are a good team, but the Wings have a good opportunity to take it to them as they ride through this slump.

Jimmy Howard is expected to get the start today, that’s the only lineup change anticipated as of right now.

NOTE: The Red Wings will be playing three games in three days starting today. They’ll draw the Hurricanes on Monday and Tuesday.
