Leafs Blog: Pension Plan Puppets

Only a few games left to go, and tonight we face our friends from Toronto for the last time this season. The Maple Leafs are on a little bit of a roll, having won 7 of their last 10, and are inching closer to being guaranteed a playoff spot, so they’ll be eager to add another two points to their total.

The Red Wings obviously don’t need to win, but I’m sure at least Zetterberg wants a win, even if #TeamTank says otherwise. Besides, it’s Babcock, and it’s fun to beat his team right? And wouldn’t it be neat to be the beginning of the Leafs epic last minute collapse that leads to them missing the playoffs?

Our loss to Tampa allowed them to sweep the season series, and with a win tonight Toronto would do the same. I’m not sure I can stomach being swept by Toronto, no matter what it does to our draft lottery chances, so let’s remind them that they aren’t all that and certainly not all that AND a bag of all-dressed chips.

The Wings are on a tough stretch due to the makeup game, but the Tampa game wasn’t even that bad I mean it’s not like we scored on our own net or something.

We’ll see what the lines look like without Mantha as he is out for the season because broke his finger in a fight (which he lost) for which he has both been criticized for being a chunkhead and praised for having #grit and #heart. Also, reading about the injury reminded me that one of his nicknames is “Mo” and that “Manthony” has yet to catch on with the Wings players despite being the superior nickname.

1-2-3 Let’s Have Fun!
