Canadiens Blog: Eyes on the Prize

This is it folks, the final weekend of hockey for Joe Louis Arena. The Montreal Canadiens get the honor of being the final Original Six team to visit the Joe in the penultimate game in the storied history of JLA. The teams come into this game on very different ends of the NHL spectrum. Montreal clinched the Atlantic and is preparing for what they hope will be a long playoff run while the Red Wings are playing out the last two games before a long and uncertain offseason begins.

In case you missed it, the Red Wings called up Matt Lorito for this weekend as Andreas Athanasiou is doubtful for this weekend’s games as he continues to deal with some injury issues likely stemming from the cross check he took while scoring the OT winner against Carolina on March 27th. For now we have slotted Lorito on the line with Abdelkader and Larkin but we will know more after the morning skate.
