In Red Wings Land
Red Wings' Dylan Larkin, Jimmy Howard help U.S. defeat Russia at Worlds | MLive.com
To be fair, Danny DeKeyser helped the U.S. defeat Russia as well. In fact, he even had one really noticeable good play I saw, in which he stole the puck from Kucherov, escaped behind the net and then got the puck out of the zone.
(the zone exit was a missed outlet pass, but hey... I said it was a good play not great play).
Larkin has been really fantastic as the 2C in this tourney and he consistently gives folks trouble. He's playing a combo point/wing on the power play and taking heavy PK duties as well. Honestly, I think Jeff Blashill is doing a pretty good job with this young Team USA.
Around the League
30 Thoughts: Should St. Louis target Eberle for scoring help? - Sportsnet.ca
We touched on the Wings-centric points in yesterday's 30 thoughts, but there's a ton of stuff to mine for around-the-league talk. This one is heavy on talk of the Caps' hard decisions, the recent Sabres moves, Russians, trade targets out of expansion-capped Minnesota, and how much Tarasenko needs out of St. Louis to a place with at least one other good player.
