In Red Wings Land
Greg Krupa wrote a great piece the other day via The Detroit News that both summarizes and questions the Red Wings’ game plan heading into 2017-18.
Drafting better, accelerating development and maintaining the culture are the strategic triad, now.
But development occurs in many ways.
Is trying to get right back into the playoffs next season worth it in the long run? Is adding grit and size worth passing up on smaller, more skilled players in the modern day NHL? So many questions, and it’s only July.
Around The League
Alexander Radulov is on the move once again, next stop, Dallas. Radulov will join the already dynamic Stars, securing his preferred five-year deal.
"I really want five years at least on my deal," said Radulov, who will count $6.25 million against the salary cap through 2021-22. "I wanted to play and not worry about it, just play hard and not worry about it. ... I got a long-term deal and I am happy."
Jim Nill is making some bold moves and brining in some big-name players down in Texas, only time will tell if they pay off or not.
Have a great fourth of July everyone!
