When I was putting this together, there wasn’t any Red Wings articles other than game previews, which will be outdated by the time you read this. So, here’s a short video of the Toast of Hockeytown event, one that looked like it would have been a lot of fun to attend, especially if you had the money to bid on items in the silent auction.

Scott Cullen, as always, has some good information about the league. One of the topics is how rookie Mathew Barzal has started to open up a lead in the Calder race.

Barzal has been a difference-maker as the Islanders’ second-line centre, putting up stellar possession stats, and scoring better than a point-per-game, a feat that would put him in impressive company if he can maintain it through the end of the season.
