Devils Blog: All About The Jersey

We’ve gone a surprisingly long way into the season without having to really complain about injuries, but right now with Abdelkader, Helm, Glendening, and Daley out we are starting to have some issues patching the holes. However, Daley’s injury has cleared the way for the long-anticipated call to Joe Hicketts. Blash describes Hicketts as having “swagger” and a “great brain for the game.”

Hicketts hasn’t shown a scoring touch with the Griffins so far, but any experience he can gain at the NHL level will only help him see what areas of his game he needs to work on to win a permanent spot.

The Devils are having their share of injury issues too, and starting goaltender Schneider has had what I’ll politely call a tough stretch being out with the flu and having a 4.13 GAA over the 5 games before that. He’s feeling better now and the Devils are hoping he gets his groove back against the Wings.

Lucky for them he’s ready, as backup goalie Kinkaid suffered a groin injury and Eddie Lack is also working his way back from injury.

Let’s Go Red Wings!
