Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic announced Monday that the Red Wings have placed veteran David Booth on waivers.
Booth (Detroit) and Chaput (Vancouver) placed on waivers today— Pierre LeBrun (@PierreVLeBrun) January 22, 2018
Booth has had a bit of a redemption trip here in Detroit, after spending time away from the NHL. He’s been a serviceable bottom-six player, with three goals and an assist in 17 games.
If Booth isn’t claimed by another team, there’s a good chance he ends up here in Detroit at some point before the season ends. But with a cap-hit of $700k, he could be a viable option for a team looking for depth. We’ll know what’s to come for Booth by noon Tuesday.
