Let’s start with another moment of appreciating last night’s victory.

The Wings put together a nice effort on the road to defeat the Devils with goals from Tyler Bertuzzi, David “waivers-schmaivers” Booth, and Dylan Larkin. Larkin’s goal was called no-goal but was a goal, and Nyquist had a no-goal called a goal and made the most wonderful faces about it. But both calls ended up the right ones after a quick review.

Petr Mrazek was absolutely marvelous, or mrakulous, getting the shutout. Back-to-back shutouts for him, great to see him bouncing back and showing why he belongs in the NHL (trade bait oo ha ha).

Joe Hicketts had a nice debut playing a solid game including one nice play where he just may have saved a goal, I’d be happy to see him stick around through the week and not worry about rushing Daley back into the lineup. With Flyers and Blackhawks on the schedule this week, having a little bludger dashing about and stirring up trouble would certainly bring that #grit factor we like without having Witkowski fight everyone and their dog.

So what are we up against?

The Flyers, after a somewhat disastrous first half of the season, have come storming back winning 7 of their last 8 and are looking to hold onto playoff position. They are also coming in having a bit of a rest after beating the Caps in OT on Sunday. But, we all know how fast the tides can turn and the Flyers are far from consistent, and it’s always fun to spoil someone’s winning streak.

Old Friend Alert: Don’t forget about Valtteri Filppula.

Can’t get enough of NBCSN coverage? Well do I have good news for you, we’re back on NBCSN Thursday against the Hawks.
