Quick Hits: The Arena-Atmosphere-Is-a-Process Edition

In Red Wings Land

Notes: Red Wings realize January will be the telltale month -
You have to expect this from the official team site, but you know it's going to be good when an article about making the playoffs has to start with "The Red Wings are not trying to sell anyone a bill of goods. They're aware their playoff chances are still dire." To tell the truth, it's the Wings' job to at least try to muster some excitement from here and even if they're planning on embracing the tank, this is exactly the kind of article the official team site should be putting out there to distract from it. You also expect the coaches and players to speak exactly like the coaches and players should be speaking because regardless of what the front office should be doing, those guys should be out trying to win every game.

It's also hilarious to see Blashill talk about the energy in the LCA lately and say "part of that's our job to make sure we give them good hockey" as though to imply that the REST of the job of filling the arena falls anywhere but on the damn team. Then he calls it "a process" and you know he's mentally checked out of the rest of that conversation anyway.

Habs captain Pacioretty brushes off rumours - Article - TSN
Any more, it's going to be a really fun game trying to guess who the next player the Montreal Canadiens run out of town to blame the woes caused by their front office on. Max Pacioretty isn't great enough to deal with the expectations put on him, but he's not not-great enough to deserve the same undeserved treatment PK Subban got there.
