In Red Wings Land
Red Wings playing ‘soft,’ need better net presence | MLive
“That was the purpose of one drill (in practice), making sure that you had one guy right on the paint and one guy up in the above slot area and the third guy is usually a retriever. You don’t necessarily want two guys on the net, you want one on the net taking away (the goalie’s) eyes and one guy in the shot-tip spot.”
The Red Wings need to figure out some way to score more goals. If this is their strategy, so be it. Let’s see if the plan works against a Bruins team that has owned the Wings the last few seasons. It felt like the team was still trying to make one too many passes the other night against the Maple Leafs while searching for the perfect goal.
On a side note, does anyone else feel that once Andreas Athanasiou finally buries one of his million chances that he’s going to go on a tear scoring goals left and right?
