“We regressed tonight for sure,” Blashill said. “I don’t think there’s any doubt that that game is not even close to good enough in any stretch. Is it troubling? Yeah, it was a bad effort — I don’t know if effort is even the right word. Bad effort, bad execution, unacceptable.

I haven’t really been on the “Fire Jeff Blashill” bandwagon (and I’m still not after yesterday’s poor performance), but how bad does it have to get before Ken Holland pulls the plug?

I don’t think we’re there yet. One really bad game does not make a season. Plus, you have to consider just how banged up and inexperienced some areas of the Red Wings are right now. Holland may just stick with Blashill through thick and thin, but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to discuss the topic.
