In Red Wings Land
Detroit Red Wings’ forwards ‘not good enough,’ need to hold onto puck | Freep
Blashill called out the team’s forwards for “not being good enough” in Boston. He is making at least one lineup change up front against Montreal as Martin Frk will make his season debut; he adds a shot from the right and he shoots hard. Frk practiced with Justin Abdelkader and Christoffer Ehn.
I don't think Martin Frk is going to save this team, but what they’re doing right now isn’t necessarily working... so why not? We knew this team was going to have some rough periods where they wouldn’t win many games. It just kind of sucks it’s happening at the beginning of the season. With that said, I do think that when the Red Wings finally win a game that they’ll get some much needed confidence back and maybe string a few W’s together.
Also...
“How to dig out is simple,” Blashill said. “We’ve had a bunch of guys who’ve had lots of chances over the course of the first four games that didn’t score. The answer to that can’t be hoping for offense and cheating for offense and to stop working. It has to be to work and do it right and and simplify.”
I’m glad Jeff Blashill agrees that hope is not a strategy.
