How Red Wings’ Michael Rasmussen has earned bigger role - Freep

Rasmussen was our POTG for Saturday’s loss to the Oilers and was one of the few bright spots for the team that was badly outplayed in that game. Looks like Jeff Blashill agrees that line was good:

“They were our best line,” coach Jeff Blashill said. “I think de la Rose has been very, very good for us — he’s a really, really strong player. He wins puck battles, he wins puck races, he knows how to leverage his body and he’s heavy down low. He just plays from the right side of the puck and as a result, he gets lots of opportunity to create some offense and he can play with good players.”

Beyond Headlines: NHL labour peace? Dare to dream - Sportsnet

‘Beyond the Headlines’ is a deeper dive into some of the stories — and even some that weren’t — discussed each week on Hockey Night in Canada’s ‘Headlines’ segment. This one features a few interesting tidbit, but the headline is the most-important. My fandom has leaned on the side of the players for every work stoppage so far, but I’m also kind of torn because if there’s going to be another one, it’s probably more-likely to be a strike than a lockout; I just want to not see hockey interrupted.
