Panthers and Wings both had the day off yesterday, but the Panthers are coming off a win and we are coming off a...butt kicking by a Stars team in disarray. So, it was decidedly not awesome, but we’re totally poised for a bounceback game.

Poor Bernier.

At least Larkin scored to keep the point streak alive at 13 games. But, Larkin can’t do everything himself. Well, he can, but he doesn’t because how else will people learn?

Last time, on Red Wings vs. Panthers:

We just saw the Panthers on 12/22, it did not go our way and we lost 2-1 with our goal being scored by Vanek who promptly dissolved back into the ghostly presence he usually maintains during games.

Panthers aren’t quite the same as last time since they did a little trade yesterday sending Alexander Petrovic off to Edmonton, not sure what he did to deserve that. In return, they get a 3rd round pick and Chris Wideman.

I have decided not to look up anything about Chris Wideman until he scores on us tonight.

Walking Wounded Wrap-up

Only notable Panthers news is Nick Bjugstad is a big ol’ maybe, he was practicing but not cleared for contact a few days ago. I’d say he hasn’t done a lot this season but that would guarantee he will be healthy and score two goals tonight.

Nothing new for the Wings. Mike Green, Danny DeKeyser, Darren Helm, and Anthony Mantha. Any of those names ringing a bell? Nobody is back tonight, but Helm is creeping closer...

Helm = a weekish

Mantha = before the break

DK = after the break

Green = 1,000 years and a very specific summoning ritual

Bottom Line

We’re on a 4 game losing streak. The Panthers are “meh”, but we are somewhere around “yikes”. We should try winning tonight, imo.

LET’S GO RED WINGS!
