Giving Ouellet a fresh start on another team is a great idea. We know he’s not going to be a difference maker, so moving on and getting anything in return is worth it. If all the Red Wings can muster is a 7th round pick, so be it. Take the chance on someone in the draft and maybe get lucky. Worst case scenario moving Ouellet would open up a spot on the current roster for someone like Joe Hicketts.
