The Wings are back in Detroit for tonight as they meet the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Pizzarena for the second time this season. The last time, coming up with a 3-1 victory on goals by DeKeyser, Daley (shorthanded) and Tatar (power play) after giving up the first of the game. Since then, the teams have gone in... kinda separate directions.

Tonight’s matchup features two teams that played last night - Detroit played a pretty good game against the Predators and took a 3-1 win out of Nashville while Toronto visited Pittsburgh and left with a closing gift of a 5-3 loss to the Penguins.

The Leafs are solidly in the Atlantic top-3 race, with a 19-point cushion over the Panthers (who do have four games in hand on them) and a +33 overall goal differential. They’re a team right now looking to see how to make a bit of noise when they get to the postseason but looking like they’ll have to take on either Boston or Tampa in the first round. Maybe if they had Luke Glendening to help them?

Detroit will have their hands full with a young team they should be taking a lot of organizational inspiration from, but man oh man screw the tank because I want the Wings to win this game.
