Can Detroit Red Wings find right deals, right price at trade deadline? - Freep
Helene scratches the surface of the deadline and attempts to put lipstick on the pig that is what's happened with the market of late that's been disadvantageous for the Red Wings. She's not exactly wrong that it's more unfortunate, but the general feel around here is that Wings fans are going to end up disappointed at day's end. There's going to be plenty of blame to fall on Ken Holland for that, but I do honestly think that there's a fair bit of shitty luck working too. The Wings weren't getting a great return on Green before Erik Karlsson overheated the market for defensemen, nor when Green was fully healthy. Shit happens sometimes. It just happens more often to Ken Holland of late, it seems.
