Sharks Blog: Fear the Fin
The Wings are in San Jose for a late night game against the Sharks. Team Teal has gone 5-4-1 in their last ten with some lopsided results both ways against mediocre to good competition you would think a team jockeying for home-ice advantage in the first round against the other Californians and Calgary would play with a little more pep in their step, but they haven’t, despite the addition of Evander Kane to the line up. The Wings will look to take advantage of the malaise tonight. I mean, the Sharks are 1-1 against the Hawks over the past few weeks, so the Wings have got a 50-50 chance, right?
On the Wings side of things, these past few weeks have been the do-or-die moment of Detroit’s season, and with their playoffs fates effectively (if not mathematically) sealed, they’ve revealed how they’ll be remembered in the 2017-18 season. They’re not Arizona or Buffalo levels of atrocious, but they are a good team on some nights and a lackluster team on most nights. We will have to wait until this morning’s practice concludes to figure out the lines, but we will figure on the same lines as Friday night until we hear otherwise. (Except Howard is probably starting.)
