In Red Wings Land
Detroit Red Wings will pick 6th in NHL draft, miss out on Rasmus Dahlin | Freep
The dream for Dahlin is officially over.
We’ve woken up from our sleep and find that the Red Wings are picking 6th overall. Detroit’s most likely draft position was 6th, so it’s not much a surprise. You can pretty much guarantee that Ken Holland will have the option to get one of the top non-Dahlin defenseman. I don’t know my preference yet, but landing one of Evan Bouchard, Noah Dobson, Adam Boqvist or Quinn Hughes is a nice consolation prize.

2018 NHL Draft Prospect Rankings: Lottery edition | Sportsnet
Sportsnet put out their rankings just before the lottery last night. So who do they have as the 6th best prospect?
6. Oliver Wahlstrom, RW, 6-foot, 205 pounds (USNTDP): Everything we’ve heard all season long was confirmed with a stellar U-18 performance. He can score and score in bunches.
That’s not a defenseman.
I want a defenseman.
Boqvist is 5th, Dobson 7th, Bouchard 8th and Hughes 9th.
