Stanley Cup Playoffs Open Thread: Bruins/Bolts 2 & Sharks/Knights 3

NHL: Stanley Cup Playoffs-Boston Bruins at Tampa Bay Lightning Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Yesterday’s Results

Pittsburgh Penguins 1 - Washington Capitals 4 (Series tied 1-1)

OVERTIME Winnipeg Jets 4 - Nashville Predators 5 (Series tied 1-1)

Boston Bruins (Atlantic Division 2) at Tampa Bay Lightning (Atlantic Division 1)

Series: BOS leads 1-0

Time 7:00pm ET

Television: NBCSN, CBC, TVAS

Game 1 was a real close back-and-forth contest until it just wasn’t anymore and the Bruins destroyed the Lightning in game one, despite what I felt looked like a reffing standard that was... tilted. I know every fanbase accuses the refs of this during the playoffs, but I hate both these teams so my whining is less-biased than Boston fans’ whining at least.

Las Vegas Golden Knights (Pacific Division 1) at San Jose Sharks (Pacific Division 3)

Series: Series tied 1-1

Time 10:00pm ET

Television: NBCSN, CBC, TVAS

The Knights have finally lost a playoff game for the first time in franchise history and it took until double-OT for it to happen against the team they dropped a seven-bagger on in game one. I don’t like the Sharks so I’m really coming around on rooting for Vegas.
