In Red Wings Land

Future of Red Wings’ goaltending alarmingly uncertain | The Morning Sun

I’m not sure what to make of the Red Wings prospect pool between the pipes, but I don't really feel all that worried about it. Jimmy Howard is here for now. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he re-signed for a short term, let’s say 2-year-deal, with a much lower cap hit than $5.3M after his current deal expires.

Will it be Filip Larsson that emerges? Maybe Joren van Pottelberghe? Personally, I like last year’s 3rd round pick Keith Petruzzelli. He wasn’t close to being good at Quinnipiac last season, but he seems like a kid that could emerge in a few years. Regardless, the Wings are years away from competing for a Stanley Cup, so let the cards fall where they may and go from there. This team has time to figure things out between the pipes.

Around the League

I love this. I love this so, so much.
