The NHL All Star rosters were announced Wednesday night, and it’s no surprise that Jimmy Howard was the Red Wings player who will be representing the team. While Dylan Larkin has been Detroit’s best player so far this season, there’s no way one can argue he should have been selected over the other forwards who are going to the game from the Atlantic Division.

From the NHL on NBC twitter feed, here is the lineup for the Atlantic Division:

To put it into perspective, Mitch Marner has 53 points in 39 games, but he will not be playing in San Jose.

Jimmy Howard has played very well this season for Detroit, so it’s not like he doesn’t deserve it.

He’s been near the top of the league all season in Goals Saved Above Average and Quality Starts. This will be Howard’s second all-star appearance, having also appeared in 2012, coincidentally also on a team with Carey Price. (He was selected in 2015, but did not play due to injury).

Here are the rest of the lineups.
