Game Preview
The Red Wings and Blackhawks meet for the second time in 10 days. The Wings will be hoping for a better spark to start this one, dropping the Feb. 10 matchup to the Hawks, 5-2. Of course, they won’t be playing a back-to-back this time around and will be looking to play the role of spoiler against a Hawks team that sits just one point out of a playoff spot in a putrid Western Conference.
I’m not sure there’s been a hotter player in the NHL right now than Patrick Kane, currently riding a 20-game point streak (that’s not a typo). He’s now tallied 90 points in 59 games this season amidst a pretty pedestrian campaign for the Hawks. He will be a primary focus for the Wings.
Lineup Notes
For the home team, expect Gustav Nyquist to be back in the lineup after missing the previous game with the flu.
An interesting note about Michael Rasmussen’s status here:

Bertuzzi-Larkin-Mantha
Vanek-Nielsen-Nyquist
Athanasiou-Glendening-Ehn
Helm-de la Rose-Abdelkader (Rasmussen rotating in)
Team considering sending Rasmussen to junior club Tri-City, which would make him eligible for AHL playoffs with @griffinshockey
Considering Nyquist, Luke Glendening and Nick Jensen have been the subject of trade rumors, it would be interesting to see who would fill the roster from Grand Rapids if all three of them were dealt by next Monday.
