Game Preview

The Wings are in the midst of a nice little three-game stretch and are looking for their fourth straight victory when they host the Vegas Golden Knights tonight. Although the two teams have contrasting seasons — the Wings sit 7th in the Atlantic Division with 49 points and the Knights are 3rd in the Pacific Division with 64 points — the Knights are hobbling into the Motor City, having lost four of their last five games.

Despite their place in the standings, the Wings have played teams tough this year with six of their contests being decided by one goal since the start of January. And, the wings could have some help for tonight’s tilt as Dylan Larkin did practice with the team on Wednesday and hasn’t been ruled out for the game. Larkin of course left Saturday’s game with a strained oblique and was originally expected to miss 1-2 weeks.

Lineup Notes

Well, this certainly caught people’s attention at Wednesday’s practice...

Larkin was seen skating on the top line alongside Justin Abdelkader (sight) and Gustav Nyquist. Larkin was expected to miss at least a week, but he could be eyeing a return tonight, so we’ll keep a look out for that.

Tyler Bertuzzi still isn’t practicing and won’t play tonight. He’s also considered questionable to take the ice this weekend when the Wings start the first of a three-game road trip in Buffalo on Saturday.
