Listen to WIIM Radio: The Pirelli Punt Edition

Formula One: United States Grand Prix-Practice Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to our newest edition of WIIM Radio! This time around we’ve got Peter hosting for Jay and J.J. Here’s what we got up to:

Detroit: The Wings came out of the break hot but lost a Larkin in the process. We go in-depth about what we want to see going forward to the trade deadline and beyond for the Wings. How to balance a sell-off versus the kids taking over versus #TeamTank versus #NoCultureofLosing. Looking a bit farther out, we still look to have a bit of a logjam at D with a need for a true top guy. Jay also wants something nobody considered.

Looking Around the League: We talked about the Auston Matthews deal and how it might affect the market going forward. Should we expect more kids to be able to force teams into the non-friendly deals like Matthews got? We all want Carolina in the playoffs for fun reasons and nobody wants Chicago winning the Hughes lottery. All this and more as we check in on the standings and the contenders/pretenders outlook.

Extra Rant Time: J.J. with a pretty short rant, Jay talks jersey-tossing, and Peter mentions a fun thing going on with Hockey Twitter right now.

Reader Questions: Some great questions from our faithful ranging from the age-old over-valuation question, the reasons a free agent would actually come to Detroit, our trade expectations, and more!

Predictions! The Wings will be playing a few more games in the coming week and us resident geniuses will tell you EXACTLY how they’re going to go.

As always, WIIM Radio is rated R for language and lying about the Library of Congress thing.
