Red Wings News

I’ve got a little confession to make here, guys: I’ve been sick as hell the past week and have barely had time or energy to think critically about anything that hasn’t been preceded by a body-aching cough lately, so hockey hasn’t been at the forefront for me. But don’t worry, I am going to just pretend I know what is going on.

The Red Wings are on a huge winning streak right now that stands at either 2 games, or 10. Not sure which, but its definitely one of them! And yet, not a single person is sweating Detroit playing themselves out of Jack Hughes contention, and the same fans have even avoided the paradox of wanting Hughes but also hating every mistake Blashill makes with every last fiber of their being. Don’t worry folks, nothing to worry about. We will all get either exactly what we want, or exactly what we deserve. Or something. I don’t know. I feel like I have a ball of cotton candy shoved between my ears right now.

Blues Clues News

Did you know these guys are pretty good again? “Yeah, they’re pretty good” is a worthy and fully comprehensive pre-season preview of the St. Louis Blues every year, I think. I used to care about these guys a lot back when Detroit played them six times a season. They hold the title of “pretty good” by pulling some new rookie goalie like a rabbit out of a freaking hat every year (or at least that’s what it feels like,) but hopefully they’ve got some other kid in their pipeline ready for next year because you just know Jordan Binnington will get traded or have some weird regression or something. As of right now he’s the kid to watch in St. Louis, and definitely not Jaden Schwartz, who’s been having a bad year.
