Detroit readies for their 2nd straight afternoon game against Tampa today. This one moves to the national stage and NBC. The good news is their scorebug probably won’t suck as much. The bad news is that the sale to the national audience is going to heavily feature the team NBC expects to cover in the playoffs and really just feature discussion of Detroit as the warmup opponent.

The Bolts jumped on Detroit early yesterday and then coasted to a 2-1 win. They’re probably going to try to wrap this one up early too. With the talent they have, being aggressive against a less-skilled team is a good gamble because even if they bite you on odd-man rushes due to your D pinching, you have the time and skill to just lean on them until they crumble.

The Wings need more out of their top guys from the get-go. Troy Stecher and Adam Erne combining to create offense is fun, but that should be extra fun, not main fun.

Hey maybe the healthy and hale Nikita Kucherov we saw skating yesterday will get into the lineup for Tampa? Just kidding, they can’t pull him off LTIR until the season is over because their salary would be too high if they did. Guess he’ll be game-ready JUST in time for the playoffs to start five weeks from now.
