Red Wings acquire forward Robby Fabbri from Blues

For the second week-in-a-row, Steve Yzerman and the Red Wings have traded for a former 1st round draft pick. This time it’s forward Robby Fabbri from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for forward Jacob de la Rose.

Fabbri, the 21st overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft, had one goal and a minus-4 rating in nine games with the Blues this season. He’s played 164 games in his career totaling 32 goals and 73 points. Fabbri missed the entire 2017-18 season due to knee injuries. He is in the final year of his contract and carries a $900K cap hit. He’ll be an RFA in the offseason.
