Red Wings Development Camp Coverage

Red Wings Development Camp is finally here again, and once again we have complete coverage from Centre Ice Arena in beautiful Traverse City Michigan. I’ll be on location to provide analysis, observations, player and coach interviews, and of course fun tidbits, facts, and terrible puns whenever possible.

The first on ice activities kick off this morning at 9:00 am. I’ll be tweeting updates, so you may follow me @slapshotg0al during the entirety of camp for all the juicy details. If you’re in the area and can attend any of the festivities, each day is open to the public and it’s only $5 admission per person per day. We also have the National Cherry Festival going on, so if you’re coming for development camp and are looking for things to do after the on ice activities, there’s plenty going on. In addition to updates on Twitter, I’ll have daily update posts here at WiiM with the low down on the kids, as well as player and hopefully coach interviews.

How you can help

If you have questions about any of the prospects or camp invites, the next few days are the perfect time to ask. Anything you’re curious about, players you’d specifically like to get to know better, and especially any questions you’d like me to ask the kids or coaches, let me know! Post in the comments, or tweet at me anytime during camp and I’ll do my best to get answers. This is more access to these kids than we’ll probably ever have in the future, so why not take advantage of it?

This is an interactive event and participation is encouraged.

Here’s the full roster, and I’ll update with the teams when I receive them.

We’ll have posts coming very soon that introduce each of the camp participants and tell a little bit about each one. Quite a few of the free agent invites are very intriguing, and the Wings may well find themselves more contract worthy young ones, like they did with Joe Hicketts last year. Stay tuned for more information and updates throughout Development Camp.
