Detroit Red Wings’ top line begin season showing promise in 5-3 win over Predators | Freep
Top of the line
Bertuzzi earned the first goal of the season at 10:29 when he one-timed a pretty pass from Larkin, sending the puck top shelf. Mantha made it 2-0 on a goal that demonstrated what a power forward he can be — he carried the puck to the net, slicing through two defenders without losing the puck. Larkin nearly made it 3-0, but his shot went off the far goal post. He made it 3-2 early in the third period, blasting a one-timer from the high slot off a pass from Mantha.
The Red Wings should just never take Dylan Larkin, Tyler Bertuzzi and Anthony Mantha off the ice.

One game does not a season make but I’m giddy with excitement over the Griffins and Wings winning their season openers on the road and major contributions from many prospects. In GR, Rasmussen (1g-1a,+2) Kaski (1g), Svechnikov (1g-2a), Seider (1a,+3), Kuffner (1g), Smith (1g-1a).

So the Red Wings win the Stanley Cup and the Griffins win the Calder Cup this season?
Sounds about right to me.
