Quick Hits: The Seider House Rules Edition

In Red Wings Land

Red Wings fade late, fall in overtime to Islanders in exhibition | Detroit News

►Regarding some of the Wings who were making their home debut in the preseason, it was a mixed bag.

Defensemen Moritz Seider and Oliwer Kaski both played around 17 minutes but Kaski, in particular, in his first game seemed to struggle with the speed and quickness. Joe Veleno had an assist on Mantha’s goal, but both failed to generated any quality chances in around 15 minutes of ice time.

I attended this game last night and enjoyed what I saw from Seider on the ice. I definitely agree with Prashanth’s tweet below:

I was impressed with his game overall and, while I don’t think he’ll be on the opening night roster, I’d love to see him in a Red Wings uniform sooner rather than later.

Also, this was awesome:

Hart: Chris Pronger, St. Louis Blues

Norris: Chris Pronger, St. Louis Blues

Selke: Steve Yzerman, Detroit Red Wings

Vezina: Olaf Kolzig, Washington Capitals

Calder: Scott Gomez, New Jersey Devils

Jack Adams: Joel Quenneville, St. Louis Blues

It’s an absolute joke that Pronger won the Hart and Nicklas Lidstrom was never even nominated for the award during his career.
